Paris, once the world’s most visited city, has recently been dethroned by London. According to VisitLondon, the British capital welcomed a record-breaking 16 million tourists in 2013.

Particularly after the Olympics of 2012, many overseas visitors swarmed to London to experience first-hand popular and iconic attractions such as the British Museum (the most visited attraction in London), Tate Modern, the London Eye, Big Ben, the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, Westminster and Portobello road.

Visitor numbers across the UK likewise increased by 8%.

London, the most visited city in the world
London has always been known for its charm and long-standing traditions.

Paris is currently the second most visited city. Regardless of the slight drop in visits, the French metropolis will never lose its reputation as the artistic capital of Europe and the most romantic place in the world.

One response to “London, the most visited city in the world

  1. I’m not amazed to know that London is the most visited city in the world. After visiting Big Ben and the Buckingham Palace through a cab service I realized that yes I’m at one of the best places of the world. My fellow colleague was not as much excited as I was but yeah everyone has its own way of thinking and exploring things.
