When to go
Getting cheap flights to Peru are all about timing. When planning to travel to Peru, the country’s physical characteristics must be taken into consideration. The desert strip is especially hot and sunny between December and May, and cool between April and November.
In the Andes the seasons are marked by wet season from December to March and a dry season from June to September. Trekking is best done during the dry season, although it can be sometimes cold at night, requiring a coat.
As a rule, the coast is best visited in January while it’s hot, and the mountains and jungle from May to September when it’s cooler, with the exception of the Iquitos region.
On top of one of the modern wonders of the world - the Inca trail and the lost city of Manchu Picchu - there are the unique Islas Flotantes (floating islands), and the Amazon bowl to consider.
