If you’re looking for cheap flights to South Africa from the UK, South African Airways, British Airways, BMI and Virgin Atlantic fly direct from London. Other carriers providing air links to the country are Qatar, KLM, Air France, Air Namibia, Emirates, Iberia, Kenya Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines.

You’re most likely to find cheap flights to South Africa if you land in Johannesburg’s Tambo airport (JNB); flights to Cape Town International (CPT) generally cost slightly more. The third international airport is Durban (DUR).

When to go
