Cheap flights to Switzerland

Switzerland, famous for chocolates and skiing (and Heidi), has a lot to offer beyond its winter resorts and decadent confections. To experience its fabulous mountain and lake scenery for yourself, use our travel search tool to find cheap flights to Switzerland.

Getting there
British Airways offers direct flights from London to Zurich and Geneva, with Swiss also covering direct routes from Manchester and Birmingham. You can also find non-stop cheap flights to Switzerland from major cities in most western European countries.

The key airports in Switzerland are in Zurich (ZRH), Geneva (GVA) and Basel (MLH), plus there are regional airports at Lugano (LUG) and Berne (BRN). You can also fly into Milan and Lyon and travel by rail into the country, but this is likely to cost more and take a lot longer than sourcing cheap flights to Switzerland.

When to go
Naturally, if you’re after the white wonders of Zermatt and St Moritz or any of the country’s other top-notch ski resorts, winter is what it’s all about – and you’ll need to book a few months in advance if you want to get cheap flights to Switzerland during this period. Summer is, however, a great time to relax around Lake Geneva, hike the Alps, and dip into quaint mountain villages and towns.

Explore the beautiful historic city of Berne, tucked into a peninsula on the Aare River. Hike, cycle or take a lofty mountain railway to soak up the awesome views around Lake Lucerne. Make a cool date for the Montreaux Jazz Festival in July. Oh, and ski, ski, ski…
