It's simple to get to the city centre from Sofia Airport. Buses go to the centre and you can buy tickets at the bus kiosk before you board. Once in central Sofia, you can also travel around by tram or metro. As in any city, you should be aware of pickpockets. Bulgarian uses the Cyrillic alphabet but luckily, many road signs are also written in English.
