Founded in 2002, RwandAir is the national flag carrier Rwanda. Operating an extensive network of domestic and international services across Africa and the Middle East. In total, 18 different destinations are offered by the airline. Boasting a fleet of 8 Boeing and Bombardier aircraft, RwandAir is headquartered at Kigali International Airport, Rwanda and operates under the slogan "Fly our dream to the heart of Africa."
RwandAir is 99% owned by the Government of Rwanda and became an official IATA member in May 2015. In addition to its own destination network, the airline enjoys a number of codeshare agreements with other African airlines including Air Uganda, Ethiopian Airlines, South African Airways and Proflight Zambia, as well as European airlines including Brussels Airlines and Turkish Airlines. These agreements provide organized flight scheduling for passengers in need of connecting flights during their travels to destinations beyond those offered by the company.
Online check-in is not currently available for RwandAir flights. Passengers should therefore ensure they arrive at the airport early to check in directly at the terminal. For international flights, it is recommended that passengers arrive 3 hours before the flight's scheduled departure time. For domestic flights this duration is 2 hours.
Check-in closes 1 hour prior to departure for international and domestic flights. In order to begin the check-in process, RwandAir passengers must be able to present their booking reference code as well as their photo identification at the check-in counter. Any baggage that passengers wish to check in should also be presented at the check-in terminal.
Passengers travelling on RwandAir flights are entitled to carry 1 item of free hand luggage with them on board the aircraft. The weight of each item of hand luggage should not exceed 10 kg or be larger than 55 x 38 x 20 cm in size. Passengers flying to Johannesburg are entitled to 15 kg. Additional small items such as handbags, camera bags or laptop bags can also be carried on board.
On a RwandAir flight, baggage that is oversized or heavier than 10 kg will be subject to an additional check-in fee and placed in the aircraft's cargo hold. All items of hand luggage should be able to fit in the overhead lockers or beneath the seats on board the aircraft. All items of hand luggage will be weighed and measured before boarding.
Passengers travelling on a RwandAir flight are permitted to check in as many items of luggage they wish, provided no single item weighs no more than 30 kg and is no greater than 203 cm in size. Any item exceeding these weight and size restrictions shall not be allowed onto the aircraft.
RwandAir passengers are entitled to 1 free item of checked baggage, with allowance for additional items for a fee during the booking process or before the flight's departure. Assistance-related devices such as wheelchairs and infant prams may also be checked into the cargo hold free of charge.
Good services and will use in future and recommend to others
It was good to be flying with a "young" and growing airline - it felt different and went very well. Just one comment: the business class menu was the same for the lunch and dinner menus but the food did not seem to match the menu!
Extremely efficient all workable. Rwandair is superb and there's plenty of competition from the other much more expensive airlines.
I found Your airline with one of the best reasonable air fares that met my purpose in traveling in Africa. Service was good, the staff friendly.
Too much unnecessary delays which eventually increases ovrrall flight journey
Good customer care. Possibly my suggestion would that for the next flights all stop over should clearly be indicated in the tickets
Rwandair Express is was a marvel to travel in and I have no doubt it will surely establish itself as one of the best and preferred airline in Africa. I enjoyed the trip and no doubt I will use the Airline again
RwandAir was fantastic
The cabin crew are fantastic plane awesome but staff at Rwanda international Airport are a bunch of crooks
Flight was delayed for more than 12 hrs on the onward flight and 40 mins on the outward bound flight.
They lost my suitecase and even 48h later they cant tell me where it is and when i can get it back
possibly the worst flight experience in my life: i booked a round trip flight with three legs on the going flight but didnt use one of the legs. on the return flight i was told at the airport my ticket was cancelled because of the no show on one of the legs during the going trip. the company wouldnt hear a word and forced me to pay another ticket. it is literally impossible for me to understand why a no show (which is paid to the company nonetheless it only means an empty seat in the aircraft for them) is punishable by asking the customer to pay for a new ticket. no one would give me a logical answer or accept any explanation.
I ordered a special meal (Kosher) which they didn't have on board! Worst experience ever!!
