Manchester to Alicante flights

When departing for the Costa Blanca, you will use Manchester Airport (MAN), which is located approximately 8 miles south-west of the city centre. The airport operates across three terminals, with Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 handling the majority of international departures to Spain. A skylink walkway connects the terminals, making it easy to move between them on foot. Depending on your airline, you might also depart from Terminal 3, which is primarily used by domestic and select European carriers.

Travellers can reach the airport via the Metrolink tram service or direct trains from Manchester Piccadilly station. Once past security, you can relax in the Escape Lounge or visit The Lion and Antelope pub before your flight.

Your journey ends at Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport (ALC), situated about 5.6 miles from the city. The most convenient way to reach the city centre is the C6 bus, which departs from outside the arrivals hall every 20 minutes. This service stops at the Luceros TRAM station and the RENFE train station, with the trip taking roughly 20 minutes. Private hire vehicles and taxis are also available from the designated ranks, offering a direct 15-20 minute transfer to your accommodation.

For those heading further afield, the TRAM Metropolitano de Alicante provides easy connections from the city centre to popular Costa Blanca resorts such as Benidorm and Altea. The airport facilities include the Costa Blanca VIP Lounge and various duty-free shops to use before you head into the city.

Alicante is a standout destination on the Costa Blanca, known for its historic landmarks and Mediterranean coastline. You can visit the medieval Castillo de Santa Bárbara, which sits atop Mount Benacantil, for views across the bay. The Old Town (Barrio de la Santa Cruz) is characterised by its narrow streets and colourful buildings, leading down to the Explanada de España promenade. For a day by the water, Postiguet Beach is located right next to the city centre, offering golden sands and clear waters.
