Manchester to Munich flights

Manchester to Munich flights run direct with Lufthansa and easyJet, linking the North West with the Bavarian capital. Booking in mid-October often brings the most competitive fares on the route. Fares start from £35, the lowest found on Opodo in recent days.

Your journey begins at Manchester Airport (MAN), the main airport serving the Greater Manchester area. Direct flights from the city are primarily operated by Lufthansa, which departs from Terminal 2. Since Terminal 1 closed, the airport runs two passenger terminals, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, connected by the Skylink walkway.

Flights land at Munich Airport (MUC). To reach the city centre, you can take the S-Bahn lines S1 or S8 from the station beneath the central area, which reach Marienplatz in about 40 minutes. Alternatively, the Lufthansa Express Bus departs from outside the terminals and runs direct to Munich Central Station.

A Munich city break from Manchester reveals a city rich in landmarks. At Marienplatz, crowds gather daily for the historic Glockenspiel performance. You can also visit the historic Hofbräuhaus beer hall to experience traditional Bavarian music and food.

The expansive English Garden features the landmark Chinese Tower and miles of shaded paths. For evening entertainment, the Glockenbachviertel district provides a hub of independent restaurants and bars. Visitors arriving in December can also experience the seasonal Christkindlmarkt.
