Lapad, further west, is quieter, offers lovely beaches, and is easily connected to the Old Town by local bus services.

Dubrovnik Airport (DBV) is located 12 miles south of the city, with transfers via airport bus or taxi. Access to the Old Town is primarily through the Pile Gate or Ploče Gate. Local buses are efficient and essential for travelling between the Old Town and the hotel areas of Lapad and Ploče, while boat taxis provide access to nearby islands like Lokrum.
