The Peruvian airline Star Peru was founded in 1997 and has its headquarters in Lima. The airline was initially known as Star Up but changed its name and IATA code in 2005 to Star Peru, IT code 2I respectively. It operates domestic passenger flights as well as cargo flights solely within Peru and has personnel of over 500 staff members committed to providing a quality service to all passengers who travel with the airline. The airline only operates domestic flights to 8 destinations within the country with its fleet of 8 aircraft comprising of Bae 146 aircraft.

The Peruvian destinations that Star Peru fly to include the city of Lima's Jorge Chávez International Airport, Cuzco's Teniente FAP Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport and Iquitos' Coronel FAP Francisco Secada Vignetta International Airport. Other cities the airline operates flights to include Puerto Maldonado, Tarapoto and Pucallpa, as well as Andoas, Corrientes-Trompeteros and Camisea, all of which are charter flights.

Online check-in

It is possible for passengers to check in to Star Peru flights from 48 hours up until 2 hours before the scheduled departure of their flight. In order to check in online, passengers are required to enter their surname as well as their 6-digit reservation code. If the online check-in process has been cancelled, it will not be possible to check in again.

Once check in has been completed, passengers are able to print off their boarding pass instantly or have it sent by email to be printed off at a later date. By checking in online, passengers can avoid waiting in long queues at the airport on the date of departure.

Hand luggage allowance

All passengers travelling on a Star Peru flight are able to take 1 piece of hand luggage with them on board as long as it does not weigh more than 4 kg and is not larger than 40 x 35 x 20 cm. All hand baggage must be able to fit in the overhead locker above the passenger's head or under the seat in front of them.

Hand luggage that exceeds the specified size and weight limitations will be placed in the hold. For domestic flights there are no limits to the amount of liquids a passenger is allowed to take with them on board.

Checked baggage allowance

Passengers are allowed to take checked baggage with them on Star Peru flights as long as it does not weigh more than 25 kg or is deemed larger than 75 x 45 x 35 cm. The total size of any single piece of luggage should also not exceed 155 cm when all sides have been added together.

The luggage can be split into a maximum of 2 pieces of luggage. Children who have paid for a ticket that is at least 50% the value of the adult's ticket are also allowed the full baggage allowance. Passengers should ensure they label their luggage with their name and address.
