Titan Airways was founded in 1988 and is a charter airline based in the United Kingdom at London Stansted Airport. It is named after the first airplane in its fleet, which was a Cessna 404 Titan. As a charter airline, its core business consists of operating services for corporations, travel companies, sports team and more. The airline's license permits it to carry both passengers and cargo.

Titan Airways most often works on a wet lease when operating services for other air carriers. In addition to these airlines, it has also flown on behalf of the Royal Mail, the British military and other ad hoc charters. As part of long-term partnerships that the company has in place, it flies to Turin in Italy, Preveza in Greece, Dalaman in Turkey, Chambery and Lourdes in France, Banjul in the Gambia and Calvi in Corsica. It has a fleet of 11 airplanes that are a mixture of Airbus and Boeing aircraft.

Online check-in

Online check-in is not a service offered for Titan Airways flights. Passengers' only option is to check in at the airport. This is possible from 3 hours before a flight's scheduled takeoff time. The airline recommends that passengers check in at least 2 hours before their flight is due to leave. When checking in at an airport counter, a passenger's name on their ticket must be an exact match for the one on their travel document. If there is a discrepancy of any kind, passengers will not be able to fly. Check-in can differ on some charter flights, however.

Hand luggage allowance

All passengers on a Titan Airways flight are permitted to bring 1 piece of hand luggage on board and into the aircraft's cabin. This can weigh up to 5 kg but must measure less than 56 x 45 x 25 cm. Handles, wheels, pockets and anything else that protrudes from said item is included within these measurements. This is to ensure that all items of hand luggage can be placed beneath the seats on the airline's flights. If an item of hand luggage exceeds these limitations, or a passenger has too many items of hand luggage, then these items will have to be checked in instead.

Checked baggage allowance

The checked luggage allowance for passengers on a Titan Airways flight is a maximum weight of 20 kg, although this can vary on some charter services. If checked luggage exceeds a passenger's allowance they will be charged for the excess weight. The airline does not guarantee carriage for overweight items. If any item of luggage weighs more than 32 kg the airline will simply refuse to carry it. Sporting items are not included in the standard checked luggage allowance and if passengers do wish to transport anything of that nature they should contact the airline in advance of their flight to arrange it.
