Athens International Airport, or Eleftherios Venizelos, is the main airport serving the city. Passengers on trips to Athens will arrive into one of its two terminals, Main Terminal or Satellite Terminal. The airport covers 11 domestic, 15 European and 20 international routes. Facilities at the airport include duty-free shops, restaurants, first aid station, banks and business lounges.
The top carriers at Athens International Airport are the following: Aegean Airlines, Ryanair and easyJet.
Athens International Airport is located about 20km east of the city centre.
Access to the airport is possible using several modes of transportation. Just beside the airport terminal is a railway station. Take Athens Metro line 3 or Proastiakos to get to the centre of Athens and back. By road, drive on Attiki Odos toll highway to reach downtown. Otherwise, passengers can hop in a taxi at a designated taxi stand outside of exit 3 at the arrivals hall. If opting for a bus, use lines X93, X95, X96 or X97 that will go to Athens centre. These buses also connect to the port of Piraeus and the intercity bus stations.
