Getting to and from the airport

Flights departing from Phoenix

Phoenix is the capital of Arizona and is known for its hot desert climate. The city is served by Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, which is located centrally in the city. The airport is only 5 kilometres from downtown Phoenix and can easily be reached from various neighbourhoods of the city.

Flights from Phoenix to London take off from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, which is the 29th busiest airport in the world. It is also the 11th busiest airport in the United States of America. The first passenger flight took off from this airport in 1930.

Getting to Phoenix airport

Phoenix is a very car-centric city and the easiest way to get to the airport from downtown Phoenix is by taking a taxi. Another way is to just rent a car and reach the airport, if you are willing to drive yourself. You can also use one of the Valley Metro buses and then take the bus 13 to reach the airport terminals. If you are somewhere in Phoenix, look for a Sky Train station and arrive at the PHY Sky Train Station. There are also a number of shuttles and limousines available for those of you who wish to travel in comfort to take one of the Phoenix London flights.

Arriving to London

London is not only a financial and commercial centre, but also an international centre of art and culture. The city is particularly known for its dance and drama venues, which lie strewn across the city. The National Theatre is obviously one of the most popular of these theatres and is a great place to watch shows at subsidised rates. The Royal Court Theatre is yet another option for those who like contemporary drama. The English National Ballet and the Royal Ballet are great options for those who love ballet and traditional dance. If you really like dance performances, Queen Elizabeth Hall is another great option where a number of internationally renowned troupes perform.

How to get to the city centre

Flights to London from Phoenix land at one of the six airports in London. If you land at Heathrow, take the Heathrow Express to Paddington Station. If you land at Luton, take a train to central London. Similarly, there are trains available to various stations in central London from Stansted, Southend and Gatwick airports. If you happen to land at London City Airport, just grab a taxi and you will reach central London in no time. You can, of course, take taxis from the other airports but they are all very far away and taxis not only cost more but take longer to reach your destination, when compared with trains.
