There is one main airport that handles flights to Tampa, which is called Tampa Airport and is located about five miles from the city centre. It operates both domestic and international flights to over 80 destinations worldwide.
A number of large airlines operate cheap flights to Tampa including: Delta Airlines, United Airlines and Jetblue Airways.
Tampa Airport is located approximately five miles west of the city centre in the country of Hillsborough, Florida on the east shore of Tampa Bay.
By car, passengers can take the I-275 highway to reach the city centre. The journey takes about 10-15 minutes. Several car rental companies are available in the airport close to the baggage reclaim area. Passengers wishing to take the bus can use the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit bus service to connect with the city centre. Taxis, shared passenger vans and limos can be organised in the baggage reclaim area.
