About Sichuan Airlines

Sichuan Airlines was founded in 1986 and commenced operations in 1988. Its headquarters are located in Chengdu, Sichuan, China and its main hubs are Kunming Changshui International Airport, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport. The airline currently has a fleet of 108 aircraft that operate flights to 67 destinations, the majority of which are to domestic locations within the People's Republic of China.

Chinese destinations the airline flies to include the cities of Haikou, Fuzhou, Jinan, Lanzhou and Shenzhen. Sichuan Airlines also operates flights to the Vietnamese destinations of Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City as well as to the Thai destinations of Bangkok and Chiang Mai. The airline also flies to Singapore Changi Airport and Seoul's Incheon International Airport in South Korea. Cities in Taiwan that the airline flies to are Taichung Airport and two airports in Taipei. It also operates flights to Vancouver in Canada and Prague in the Czech Republic.

Online check-in

Passengers who would like to check in online to Sichuan Airlines flights have to enter their ticket number as well as their surname. Once the check-in process has been completed, passengers can print out their boarding pass or have it sent to their email address to be printed at a later date.

Sichuan Airlines passengers who have checked in online can avoid long queues at the airport by going directly to the gate on the date of departure if they are only travelling with hand luggage. For those travelling with hold luggage, it is advisable to arrive at the airport in good time to be able to drop off their baggage.

Hand luggage allowance

All passengers are allowed to take at least 1 piece of hand luggage with them on a Sichuan Airlines flight free of charge. Hand luggage should not weigh more than 10 kg and should not be larger than 55 x 40 x 20 cm.

Hand luggage should be placed into the overhead lockers above the passenger's head or under the seat in front of them. Liquids can be taken on Sichuan Airlines flights as long as each individual container is not larger than 100 ml and the total volume does not exceed 1 litre. All containers must fit into a re-sealable see-through plastic bag.

Checked baggage allowance

The amount of baggage that a passenger is allowed to take with them on Sichuan Airlines flights is 1 piece of luggage, free of charge. The luggage should generally not weigh more than 20 kg although this limit may be different for passengers flying to Vancouver.

Musical instruments and sporting equipment are allowed to be transported on a Sichuan Airlines flight as long as the items meet the airlines requirements.
