About Air Dolomiti

Founded in 1991, Air Dolomiti is an Italian regional airline. Its headquarters are located in Dossobuono, Villafranca di Verona, Italy, though its main operating base is situated in the German city of Munich. The airline has a fleet of 10 Embraer E-195 aircrafts that currently fly to numerous destinations across the whole of Europe.

Air Dolomiti is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the German airline Lufthansa, which purchased the airline in 2003. Employing over 550 members of staff, the airline still retains its own corporate identity separate from other Lufthansa-owned airlines. Many of Europe's most popular holiday destinations are served by Air Dolomiti flights, including Italian destinations such as Florence, Milan and Naples; German destinations such as Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich; and also destinations in France, Ireland and Russia. Many of these connections are operated under the Air Dolomiti brand, while others are advertised as Lufthansa Group flights.

Online check-in

Air Dolomiti flights currently offer online check-in services for passengers. This service is available during the 23 hours prior to the flight's scheduled departure. During the online check-in process, passengers can select which seat they would like and also have their boarding pass sent to their phone. Online check-in is available up until 45 minutes before the flight's departure.

It is also possible to check in at the airport for Air Dolomiti flights leaving Verona, Florence, Venice, Bari, Munich, Bologna and Torino. For each of these locations, check-in desks are open 2 hours before the flight's departure and close 30 minutes prior.

Hand luggage allowance

Passengers flying on an Air Dolomiti flight are allowed to carry 1 piece of hand luggage with them on board as long as it does not exceed 7 kg in weight. The size of the baggage may not be larger than 55 x 40 x 20 cm.

Hand luggage must be stored in the overhead lockers above the seats. Liquids can also be taken on board as long as each container is not able to hold more than 100 ml. All containers must be able to fit into a transparent plastic bag and the total quantity should not exceed 1 litre. Baby food, prescription medicine and special diet foods can also be taken on board, though Air Dolomiti passengers should inform security beforehand.

Checked baggage allowance

The amount of hold baggage a passenger is allowed to take with them on an Air Dolomiti flight is dependent on the type of ticket they are carrying. Passengers with a Light ticket are not permitted to check in any luggage, Plus passengers are eligible to bring 1 checked item weighing no more than 23 kg, while Emotion passengers are allowed 1 checked item weighing up to 32 kg.

All Air Dolomiti passengers traveling with infants are able to check in one car seat or stroller, while Plus and Emotion ticket holders can also check in an addition item of baggage weighing up to 10 kg. It is also possible for Gold Star Alliance members to check in an additional item of sporting equipment, such as a golf bag.
