Founded in 1996, the Tahiti-based French airline, Air Tahiti Nui, began operations 2 years later in 1998. Its headquarters are located in Papeete, Tahiti whilst its main hub can be found at Faa'a International Airport. It has a number of codeshare agreements with other airlines including Qantas, Vietnam Airlines, Korean Air, Air France, American Airlines and Japan Airlines. The airline currently operates flights to 5 destinations around the world with its fleet of 5 aircraft, consisting of Airbus A340-300 planes.

The 5 destinations that Air Tahiti Nui flies to include Auckland International Airport in New Zealand and Los Angeles International Airport in the United States. Online check-in

Currently is it not possible to check in online to Air Tahiti Nui flights. Therefore, passengers are advised to make sure they arrive at the airport in good time on the date of departure to avoid potentially missing their flight. Check-in will begin from 3 hours before the scheduled departure of the flight up until 60 minutes before the flight departs.

When checking in at the airport, Air Tahiti Nui passengers must have all of the required travel documents with them, such as photo identification, a valid passport and e-ticket confirmation. Seating will be assigned at the airport during the check-in process.

Hand luggage allowance

On an Air Tahiti Nui flight, all passengers over the age of 2 can take 1 free piece of hand luggage with them on board. The weight of the baggage must not exceed 10 kg and the size of the baggage should not exceed 115 cm when the length, width and height have been added together.

In addition to the hand luggage, Air Tahiti Nui passengers are allowed to take 1 small personal item such as a camera, handbag or small laptop, weighing no more than 3 kg. Liquids can also be taken on board as long as each container is not able to hold more than 100 ml.

Checked baggage allowance

Economy Class passengers are allowed to take 1 piece of luggage weighing up to 23 kg whilst Business Class passengers can take 2 pieces weighing up to 32 kg with them.

In addition, Silver and Gold club card members are allowed to take one additional piece of checked luggage. No piece of luggage should be larger than 158 cm when all sides have been added together.
