The privately owned airline Airlink was founded in 1995 and is headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa. It has codeshare agreements with two of the country's other airlines, South African Express and South African Airways. It is a member of the Star Alliance and operates out of its main hub at O.R. Tambo International Airport. To service its focus cities, the airline makes regular flights to Cape Town International Airport and King Shaka International Airport.
Subsidiaries of Airlink are Swaziland Airlink and Airlink Cargo. It currently has a fleet size of 43 aircraft that fly to 36 destinations in South Africa plus other cities in nearby countries. South African destinations include Durban, Pretoria, Upington and Polokwane. The airline also flies to the Botswanan destinations of Maun, Kasane and Gabarone as well as the Madagascan cities of Antananarivo and Nosy Be. Zambian destinations it currently operates flights to include Livingstone, Harare and Ndola.
