About Cubana de Aviacion

Founded in 1929, the airline Cubana De Aviación commenced operations a year later in 1930. Its headquarters are based in Havana, Cuba and it is the country's national flag carrier as well as its largest airline. Its main hub is located at José Martí International Airport and its focus cities are situated at Frank País Airport, Juan Gualberto Gómez Airport and Antonio Maceo Airport. It has a fleet of 20 aircraft that currently fly to 20 destinations around the world.

Cuban destinations that the airline services include the cities of Cayo Largo, Guantánamo, Santa Clara and Nueva Gerona. Cubana De Aviación also flies to the Canadian destinations of Toronto and Montreal as well as to the Mexican destinations of Mexico City and Cancún. The airline also operates flights to two destinations in Europe, which are Madrid in Spain and Paris in France, and to Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic and Bogotá in Colombia.

Online check-in

Passengers are able to print out a boarding pass for their Cubana De Aviación flight. On the date of departure, passengers should ensure they arrive at the airport in good time to avoid waiting in long queues. Check-in is available at the airport 2 hours before the departure of the flight for domestic flights and 3 hours before the flight departure for international flights.

Passengers must have their boarding pass with them at the airport in order to check in. Seating will be assigned up until the allowed check-in deadline, which is 40 minutes before the departure of international Cubana De Aviación flights and 50 minutes before domestic flights.

Hand luggage allowance

Passengers travelling on a Cubana De Aviación flight are allowed to take 1 piece of hand luggage with them on board as long as it does not weigh more than 5 kg. No single piece of luggage should exceed 115 cm when all dimensions have been added together.

Hand luggage should be placed in the overhead locker above the passenger's head or under the seat in front of them. Liquids are allowed on board as long as the containers are not able to hold more than 100 ml and that the total amount of liquid does not exceed 1 litre.

Checked baggage allowance

The amount of checked baggage a passenger can take with them on Cubana De Aviación flights depends on the route that is being travelled as well as the class of ticket that has been purchased. For example, passengers travelling from Mexico to the United States are allowed to take 60 kg if they have a Business Class ticket or 50 kg if they have an Economy Class ticket.
