About Middle East Airlines

Founded in 1945, Middle Eastern Airlines is the national flag carrier of Lebanon, with Its main hub located in Beirut, near the Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport. MEA flights include destinations around the world in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. In total, the company offers over 30 destinations and has a fleet of over 20 aircraft. It is part of the SkyTeam alliance. MEA Airlines has codeshare agreements with Tunisair, Air France, Air Canada, Alitalia, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, Saudia, TAROM and Royal Jordanian.

Many of the MEA flights include European destinations such as Milan, London and Frankfurt. The MEA London flight takes passengers to Heathrow International Airport, the largest airport in the United Kingdom, plus to Arabian destinations such as Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Italian destinations that the airline flies also include Milan Malpensa Airport and the Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino International Airport in Rome.

Online check-in

Online check-in is available between 24 and 3 hours before the departure of the flight. Passengers can still make changes to their booking up to 3 hours before the flight. In order to check in online, passengers need their e-ticket number as well as their flight number. A seat can then be selected and confirmed online.

Passengers can save and print their confirmation once it has been received. Online check-in is not possible for minors or those travelling with a baby as well as for passengers who require medical services. Passengers travelling with live animals are also not allowed to check-in online.

Hand luggage allowance

Passengers travelling with MEA Airlines are allowed 1 piece of hand baggage per person. The luggage must not exceed 10 kg in weight and 56 x 40 x 25 cm in size. Hand luggage should be stowed in the overhead storage space or under the seat in front of the passenger.

Liquids can be taken on board in the hand luggage as long as the contents are not more than 100 ml each, however the total amount of liquid should not exceed 1 litre. Liquids purchased at a duty free shop should be sealed in a plastic bag by the shop personal in order to prevent it being tampered with.

Checked baggage allowance

The amount of checked luggage allowed on Middle East Airlines flights depends on the route the passenger is travelling. For MEA London flights, both Business and Economy Class passengers are allowed to take 1 piece of luggage weighing up to 23 kg. The sum of the dimensions of the baggage may not exceed 158 cm. Infants are allowed to take one checked baggage free of charge that weighs up to 10 kg.

For flights to Dubai, Economy Class passengers are allowed to take baggage weighing up to 30 kg whilst Business Class passengers can take baggage weighing up to 60 kg. 1 piece of sports equipment can be taken free of charge as long as it does not weigh more than 23 kg.
