Ukraine's national flag carrier airline was founded in 1992 and operates out of a single hub at Boryspil International Airport, close to its headquarters in Ukraine's capital, Kiev. Although it was previously state-owned, the Ukrainian government sold its shares in the airline in 2011, turning it into a private company. Its first flight was from Kiev to London and today, Ukraine International Airlines operates both international and domestic flights with destinations in Europe, the United States, Asia and the Middle East.

Altogether, the airline flies to more than 75 different destinations around the world. Some of the most popular Ukraine International Airlines flights are those to Helsinki, Vilnius and Riga. The airline operates a fleet of more than 30 Boeing and Embraer aircraft. It has codeshare operations with 14 different airlines including Belavia, Air Moldova, airBaltic and Turkish Airlines.
