SmartWings is a low-cost Czech air carrier that was founded in 2004 by another Czech airline, Travel Service, in order to enter the budget leisure sector. Travel service is also currently the countries largest airline. SmartWings has its headquarters located in and operates from a base at Vaclav Havel Airport in Prague, the Czech Republic's capital city. Nearly 20 aircraft fly under the airline's brand, all of which are either Boeing 737s or Airbus A320s.
SmartWings flies to over 40 different destinations in Europe, Asia and Africa. Popular routes operated by the airline include flights to London Gatwick Airport, Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and Dubai International Airport. Many of its flight paths, such as those to Barcelona, Faro and Naples, are seasonal and only operate during the summer holiday period. It also has a codeshare agreement with Czech Airlines on 9 routes. It is not a member of an airline alliance.
