USA's third largest city Chicago is served by a number of airports. The most important ones are Midway International Airport and O'Hare International Airport. The former is located 27 kilometres from downtown Chicago, whereas the latter is located only 16 kilometres away from the Loop, another name for downtown Chicago.
Flights from Chicago to London may take off from either O'Hare International Airport or Midway International Airport. O'Hare International Airport is recognised by most travellers as it is synonymous with the city of Chicago. It is also consistently rated as one of the best North American airports by travel magazines.
Chicago London flights may take off from one of the two airports that serve the city of Chicago. If your flight is taking off from O'Hare International Airport, all you need to do is hop on the Blue Line L at Forest Park or at downtown Chicago. To get to Midway International Airport, you can hop on the Orange Line train from the Loop. You can also take taxis and buses from various neighbourhoods of Chicago, and these can often be more comfortable than taking a train. Like in most cities, taxis are expensive in Chicago, which is something you should bear in your mind.
London is an international city with a wide range of activities to pursue and cuisines to try. As it was the imperial capital of the British colonies, a number of cuisines from its former colonies can be tasted in the city in various ethnic restaurants. Curry houses are particularly popular in England, and they trace their history to the Madras Presidency in South India. Begin your journey at the venerable Veeraswamy in affluent Mayfair. Head toward Quilon, a famous South Indian restaurant near Buckingham Gate. Chutney Mary on St. James Street is a very popular restaurant that brings authentic British curry cuisine to Londoners. End your culinary journey with some Indian beer.
If you are flying from Chicago, remember that London is a large city with many airports. Flights to London from Chicago may land at Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Southend, Luton or London City airports. All of these airports, bar London City Airport, are far away from the city centre. The best way to get to central London is to just take a train from these five airports to get to your destination. From London City Airport, you can simply take a taxi to wherever you have to go because it is already in the middle of the city.
