Innsbruck Airport (also known as Kranebitten Airport) is the largest international airport in the western Austrian state of Tirol and considered the gateway to the heart of the Alps. Winter or summer, flights to Innsbruck are available from many international destinations.
Many large airlines serving Austria operate cheap flights to Innsbruck including: Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and easyJet.
Innsbruck Airport is located approximately 2.5 miles to the west of the city centre in the suburb of Höttinger Au in the outskirts of the city.
Access to downtown Innsbruck and the main train station is provided by the bus route F which takes approximately 20 minutes. From the train station, there are regular trains to a number of resorts and destinations. There are numerous taxi companies that can be booked privately and also offer scheduled transfers that run to official timetables. Several car rental agencies are available on-site that are accessed by a covered walkway from the terminal building. The B174 and B171 roads connect the airport with the city.
