After embarking it was like the Marie Celeste and nothing was working. The lift were out of order and there were signs to arrivals that didn't lead anywhere it was possible to go. Several hundred eventuall found our way down an escalator that wasn't working to a transit train that had a sign saying out of order. Then mgically a train came nd the doors opened and several hundred people clambered inside and waited. And waited. And waited. Then there was an annuncement that the train was out of service, so several hundred people got off the train and climbed back up the escalator that still wasn't working and stood around for another ten minuted. Then a women turned up who seemed amazed that we didn't know that we were supposed to go through an unmarked door to outside where a bus was waiting. The driver and the woman tried desparately but unseccessfully to fit 200 people into the bus which was packed like a tokyo tube. In retrospect it was comical.

The only incident was that one of the suitcases' shell was cracked on the flight between Athens/Istanbul and Stansted. We will now have to try and initiate a claim for the damage.

Good efficient airport, but it does not allow operation of cheap cabs/shuttles to nearby towns. This is the biggest negative. Consider the situation that you pay £70 for the flight and then you have to pay about £100 to get to Colchester. This is unacceptable. Also set-down and pick up should be free.
