Manchester is one of the largest cities in England and is known for its industrial and cultural history. The city is served by Manchester Airport, which is not too far away from the city centre. It is only 14 kilometres away and is located in Ringway. This airport has three terminals and serves millions of passengers from across the world.

Flights from Manchester to Barcelona take off from Manchester Airport, which was officially opened in 1938. However, it was partially opened in 1937 and has remained operational ever since. This airport was used as a RAF base during World War II and is the second busiest airport in England after Heathrow Airport in London.

Getting to Manchester airport

Manchester Airport can be reached by a number of methods. To catch Manchester to Barcelona flights, arrive at the Manchester Piccadilly Station in the centre of the city and take the TransPennine Express to reach the Manchester Airport Railway Station at the airport. Another option is to take bus 43 from Central Manchester. You can also arrive at Cornbrook Station and take the Metrolink to the airport. How to get to the city centre

Flights to Barcelona from Manchester always arrive at Barcelona-El Prat Airport, located 12 kilometres away from the city centre. As it is not too far away from Gothic Quarter, you can easily take a Rodalies commuter train to Passeig de Gracia station and head to the Gothic Quarter. However, if you wish to reach Placa Catalunya directly, you can simply take an Aerobus shuttle. Another option is to take Barcelona Metro's L9, which brings you to the city centre as well. There are a number of taxi and cab services in the city, so it is never a problem to find one outside the airport.
