The nucleus of the city is found within the Parte Vieja, a compact network of narrow streets teeming with life, locals and numerous tapas bars. San Sebastian Airport is located about 12 miles from the city centre in Fuenterrabía (Hondarribia) in the area of Bidasoa on the River Bidasoa estuary.
San Sebastian Airport is connected to three main highways, the N-1, the AP-8 and the A-15. There are several intercity buses that run between the airport and San Sebastian which take about 30 minutes. Taxis are available at the taxi rank in front of arrivals and take about 20 minutes to arrive in the city centre.

Bilbao Airport is located approximately 7 miles from the centre, in the municipality of Loiu.
The Bizkaibus Line A3247 runs between Bilbao Airport and Bilbao Termibus, via Gran Vía 79, Plaza Moyua and Alameda Recalde 11. Taxis are available in the arrivals area and there are numerous car rental agencies. By car access the city centre via the Artxanda tunnels or the BI-631 road.
