Vueling is a low-cost Spanish airline based in Barcelona. It was founded in 2004 and is now the largest airline in Spain, both in terms of the number of destinations that it flies to and because of the size of its fleet. Its 107 aircraft fly from hubs in both Barcelona-El Prat and Leonardo da Vinci - Fiumicino International Airport in Rome, and it also flies from many other bases throughout Europe. It is a subsidiary of IAG (International Airlines Group), which was created in 2011 by a merger between British Airways and Iberia, with Aer Lingus and IAG Cargo also being subsidiaries. Passengers can claim Avios miles on Vueling flights with their loyalty program called Vueling Club or by joining in the Iberia Plus program. Vueling has codeshare agreements with the main two airlines included in IAG, as well as Cathay Pacific and Qatar Airways.
It is usually possible to choose your seat during your booking process, but if not, Vueling online check-in is available from seven days before your flight up to one hour before your scheduled departure. However, if you are leaving from Heathrow, check-in is only available from 24 hours before your flight. Passengers who have booked an Optima or Excellence Fare or have selected a seat with the Basic Fare while booking will not be charged for check-in and your boarding pass will be sent to you after confirmation by email. In addition to this, an Excellence Fare will allocate you a seat in the front row of the plane with no one sitting next to you, if space allows.
Once you have either printed your boarding pass or downloaded it to your mobile phone, there is no need to queue at the airport. If you have only carry-on luggage, simply take your boarding pass to the gate, but in the event that you have checked luggage, you should leave it with the staff at the drop-off desks when you arrive at the airport.
The Vueling baggage policy does not specify any dimensions for your checked luggage, just that each bag should be less than 32 kg, for the safety of the baggage handlers. If you have purchased a Basic Fare, you can take three bags up to a weight of 23 kg, for a fee. Any additional weight between 23 kg and 32 kg will be charged for as excess baggage fees, but any bag larger than 32 kg will not be accepted.
Optima Fare passengers are allowed to take one 23 kg bag free of charge, as it is included in their ticket, and Excellence Fare passengers are allowed two such bags. In these cases, passenger may purchase an increase to their allowance so that they can take three bags in total if they wish. If any passenger has Smart luggage, the batteries must be removed and carried with them in the cabin.
If you would like to take sports equipment or musical instruments with you on your flight, you can apply to take an extra allowance of Special Luggage. This could include skiing equipment, golf clubs or large instruments such as cellos. To be accepted, the equipment must be wrapped securely with contact details attached, and conform to the maximum weight of 32 kg and maximum height of 2.7m. Any item outside these restrictions should be confirmed with the airline before booking. Please be aware that there are usually special conveyor belts for this type of luggage at airports, as its size and shape often prevent use by the normal baggage conveyor belts. Please ask airport staff where you will be able to pick these items up from after your flight.
The Vueling hand luggage allowance permits all passengers to take one piece of luggage onto the plane with them, as well as a small personal item, and duty-free goods. The larger luggage cannot be greater than 10 kg and must be a maximum size of 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm. The small personal item must be no larger than 35 cm x 20 cm x 20 cm, and the duty-free goods can only be in a single bag. If liquids have been purchased at duty-free, they will only be allowed on board if they are still in the sealed security bag provided by the store.
Excellence Fare passengers are allowed main carry-on luggage that weighs up to 14 kg. Larger luggage should be placed in the overhead compartments, and smaller items under the seat in front.
Apart from the duty-free items, there are restrictions when it comes to transporting liquids on board with you. Any liquids, pastes, creams or aerosols must be placed in separate containers not exceeding 100ml, and then in a clear bag of a maximum size of 20 cm x 20 cm. Any liquids exceeding these limits can be packed in your checked luggage but must not enter the cabin with you.

Good flight - poor service by cabin staff
Flight was delayed and arrived after 9 minutes after midnight and although we were delayed plane was parked at a remote position. As a result Goldcar closed airport office and I lost car rental and was left stranded at the airport

If it’s stated in their policy that passengers should take 1 hand luggage only in the cabin, then they should stick with this. There were people with 2 hand luggage put up in the cabins and us with one hand luggage only were asked to put it under the front seat - which would have been very uncomfortable since it was already economy flight .
3 hours late departing and 1 hour late arriving back.
Online check-in did not allow allocation of seats, at any price. 7 days prior to flying there was an option to have seats allocated by the airline. I would avoid the airline because of experience with their website - no error messages, just returning to original screen each time I tried to check in.
Veiling canceled out bound flight last minute forcing me to pay an extra ?221 for a one way flight on AIR FRANCE as I had to be in Paris the following morning. Also lost one night booking of hotel I had already paid for which was non-refundable as a result of cancelation. Overall, very sad experience for me which cost me so much money.
I am tall, 187 cm, absolutely horrible sitting in that seat not being able to bend my knees
2hr delay. As legally required Vueling did provide any food or drink for a delay of 2hrs. Rude airline hostess. Terrible experience. Will not fly with them again.
