Thessaloniki Airport (also known as Thessaloniki Macedonia Airport or SKG) is the second largest airport in Greece, located approximately nine miles outside of the city centre. The airport handles several million passengers per year on flights to Thessaloniki and the surrounding region.

    Thessaloniki Airport is located about 9 miles southeast of the city centre.

    Transport options

    You can access the city centre via the national road, route 67 and the route 25 motorway, and the journey takes about 25 minutes. There are a number of car rental agencies on-site. The only buses that connect the airport with the city centre are the express bus 78 (during the day), 78A (early morning) and 78N (in the evening) which run to the main Railway Station and Bus Station via Platia Aristotelous every 45 minutes or so. Metered taxis are available from outside the terminal building with a journey time of about 30 minutes to the city centre.
