Olympic Air

About Olympic Air

A subsidiary of Aegean Airlines , Olympic Air was founded in 1957 as Olympic Airways and began operations under its current name in 2009. Its main hub is Athens International Airport, which is also the location of its headquarters. Its secondary hub is Rhodes International Airport. It previously had codeshare agreements with a number of other airlines including Etihad, KLM and Delta Airlines until it was purchased by Aegean Airlines and became a member of the Star Alliance.

Olympic Air currently has a fleet of 14 aircraft that operate flights to 34 Greek destinations such as to Kos Island International Airport, Skyros Island National Airport and Kalymnos Island National Airport. It also operates a number of flights on behalf of its parent company such as to Mytilene International Airport, ThessaloNiki Airport and Corfu International Airport. Several seasonal destinations are also flown to including to Mykonos Island National Airport and Santorini (Thira) National Airport.

Online check-in

Passengers can check in online onto Olympic Air flights by using a computer or mobile device from 48 hours up until 30 minutes before the departure of the flight. In order to check in, passengers must enter their departure airport and their e-ticket number before being able to choose their desired seat on the aircraft.

Once the check-in process has been completed, passengers can either receive a copy of their boarding pass or print it off right away. Alternatively, if passengers are checking in on a mobile device, they can store their boarding pass on their smart phone to save having to print off a paper ticket.

Hand luggage allowance

Passengers are allowed to take 1 piece of hand luggage with them on Olympic Air flights as long as the baggage is not larger than 55 x 40 x 23 cm and does not exceed 8 kg. Infants up to the age of 2 years old are allowed to take luggage weighing up to 6 kg.

Larger pieces of hand baggage must be stored in the overhead lockers above the passenger's head whilst smaller pieces should be stored under the seat in front of them. Liquids are allowed on board as long as none of the containers are able to hold more than 100 ml.

Checked baggage allowance

The amount of checked baggage allowance a passenger is allowed to take on their Olympic Air flight is dependent on the type of ticket they have purchased. For GoLight ticket holders, no free checked baggage is allowed, whilst Flex ticket holders are entitled to take 1 piece of luggage weighing up to 23 kg.

Business Class ticket holders are permitted to take 2 pieces of luggage on their flight, each weighing up to 32 kg. Gold members, no matter what type of ticket they have purchased, are allowed to take an additional piece of luggage with them in the hold. Passengers should ensure they label each piece of luggage with their name and address.

I was very angry with the people in the cheque in. I don't know if the mistake is on them or on your internet side but they forced me to pay luggage 35 euros the time i had payed in the internet for that! They did not find in the system my payment on the departure for laggage 23 kg so i had to pay! I want some explanations about that! Where is the mistake? I am going to sue the Aegean or your internet side about that! Have in mind that! Thanks!
