About Gambia Bird

The Gambian flag carrier airline, Gambia Bird, was founded in October 2012 by the German airline Germania and ceased its operations in December 2014. Its headquarters were located in the Gambian town of Kanifing whilst its main hub was at Banjul International Airport. Gambia Bird flights could be taken to various destinations in Africa as well as to a couple of airports in Europe. In total, the airline flew to 9 destinations with its fleet of 2 aircraft, both of which were Airbus A319-100 planes and were leased from Germania.

It was possible for passengers to get a Gambia Bird flight to the Liberian city of Monrovia and its Roberts International Airport. Other flights operated by the airline included Kotoka International Airport in Ghana, Douala International Airport in Cameroon and Léopold Sédar Senghor International Airport in Senegal. The airlines flights were also operated to Osvaldo Vieira International Airport in Guinea-Bissau and Lungi International Airport in Sierra Leone. In addition to African destinations, it was also possible for travellers to fly with the airline to Barcelona Airport in Spain and London Gatwick Airport in the United Kingdom.
