About Corsair

Corsair International is a French airline that is a wholly owned subsidiary of the TUI Group. It operates out of Paris Orly Airport and has its headquarters located in nearby Rungis, a suburb of Paris. It was originally called Corse Air International when it was set up in 1981, but changed to its present name in 1990 after a handover of ownership. Its current owners acquired the airline in 2000. It owns a fleet of 7 aircraft that encompasses 4 Airbus and 3 Boeing planes.

The airline operates long-haul services to 12 popular holiday destinations in Africa, North America and French overseas territories. Among these locations, some of the airline's top routes are those to Punta Cana International Airport, Port Louis Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport and Antananarivo Ivato Airport. The airline operates codeshare flights serving the West Indies through an agreement with Air Caraibes and is also part of the TUI Airlines alliance, owner of TUIfly.

Online check-in

Passengers can check in online for their Corsair flight starting from 48 hours before departure. The online check-in service closes 2 hours before a flight is scheduled to take off. At this time, passengers can also select a seat for the flight. By entering their e-ticket number or booking confirmation code, passengers can check in via a web browser or on a mobile device. After checking in, they will either be able to print a physical copy of their boarding card or download it to their smartphone. Passengers can also check in at the airport, but the airline recommends that they do so at least 4 hours before their flight is due to take off.

Hand luggage allowance

The airline provides the same hand luggage allowance on all of its scheduled routes. All passengers regardless of cabin class are entitled to bring 1 item of hand luggage on board their Corsair flight. Any personal items such as laptops or handbags must fit inside this one item. It can weigh up to 12 kg and measure up to 55 x 40 x 20 cm. If their hand luggage is deemed too large or too heavy, passengers will be required to pay an additional charge and their luggage will have to be checked into the aircraft's hold rather than transported in the cabin.

Checked baggage allowance

Corsair flights use the piece concept for their checked luggage allowances. On most of the airlines flights, passengers travelling in the airline's Horizon class can check in 1 item of luggage weighing up to 23 kg, while passengers flying in Grand Large class can check in 2 items of luggage, each weighing up to 32 kg. Exceptions to this are the airline's flights between France and African airports. On these flights, Horizon class passengers can check in 2 items weighing up to 23 kg each, and Grand Large class passengers can check in 2 items up to 32 kg. Excess baggage fees will be charged to any passengers who exceeds their checked baggage allowance.
