About Azerbaijan Airlines

Azerbaijan Airlines was founded in 1992 and is the largest airline in Azerbaijan. Its headquarters are located in Baku, Azerbaijan near its main hub, the Heydar Aliyev International Airport. Known simply as AZAL, it is the carrier of the country's national flag. It successfully completed an IATA safety audit highlighting Azerbaijan Airlines' safety record. This proves the quality of the airline and shows the strict guidelines it adheres to. The airline flies to over 50 destinations across the world and boasts a fleet size of more than 30 aircraft. The company has a subsidiary airline called AZAL Jet.

Its wide ranging fleet connects those travelling on Azerbaijan Airlines flights to destinations further afield including locations in South East Asia and North America. Some of the airline's top destinations include flights to Paris, London and New York. Other routes include seasonal flights to Russian destinations such as Saint Petersburg and Moscow, as well as flights to Turkish destinations including Istanbul and Ankara. Online check-in

Checking in on an Azerbaijan Airlines flight can be done online, either using a web browser or directly through a mobile phone. It is possible to receive either an electronic ticket that can be stored safely on a smart phone for convenience, or alternatively a purchased ticket that can be printed off.

In order to complete the online check-in with Azerbaijan Airlines, passengers will either need to know their e-ticket number or booking reference, their flight details, or their frequent flyer card number. By producing an official identification document passengers are also able to check-in at the departure airport by arriving at the airport in good time.

Hand luggage allowance

Azerbaijan Airlines offer different categories of hand baggage allowance dependent on which ticket class has been purchased. For VIP Club passengers, 3 pieces of hand baggage up to 8 kg each is allowed. Comfort Club and Business Class passengers are allowed to take 2 pieces up to 8 kg each, whilst Economy Class passengers can take only 1 piece weighing up to 10kg. The total dimensions must not exceed 110 cm (55 x 35 x 20cm).

In addition, passengers are allowed to take a handbag, brief case, portable computer and camera on board. These items are not included as part of the total hand baggage allowance.

Checked baggage allowance

Passengers flying with Azerbaijan Airlines are allowed different checked baggage allowances dependent on the class of ticket purchased. VIP Club passengers are allowed 3 pieces of hand baggage up to 32 kg each, whilst Comfort Club and Business Class passengers are allowed to take 2 pieces up to 32 kg each. Economy Class passengers can take 1 piece weighing up to 23 kg. Economy passengers flying with AZAL Jet are not allowed free baggage allowance. The total dimensions must not exceed 158 cm. In addition to the free baggage, a golf kit, bicycle and one set of skiing equipment can be taken without charge. Any further sporting equipment must be paid for.

safety was slack with seat backs not upright on take-off and handbags not placed under forward seats on the floor. During taxiing passengers out of seats collecting bags from over heads. Steward finally arrived to return pax to their seats but one stayed standing at the front

Check in at Tshkent is a nightmare - Given that the country seeks foreign tourists it absolutely must undertake a major upgrade to its airport facilities: access for cars to drop passengers with luggage near Departures ready access to trolleys recognisable registered porters at a fixed rate upgrade weight allowances to international norms of 30 kg for economy serious consideration of 'accessibility' issues per SDGs for the disabled/infirm/elderly/travellers with children clear notices of what to do where and train airport staff on everyday courtesy to its passengers instead of treating them like criminals. Without these basics tourists will drop off not increase.

You sold me tickets from AZAL. but actually carrier was SCAT with totally different sport equipment carrier condition instead of free ski delivery I have to pay 230$ for me and my wife. It is almost tickets price.I wold never ever bought the SCAT due to main object of my travel was mounting skiing. So you have misinformed me and spent my money. Will never more use you company and recommend avoid you to my friens!
