Founded in 1993, Precision Air is a Tanzanian airline with the slogan "You Are Why We Fly". Operating from its base at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam, the airline operates scheduled domestic flights across Tanzania, as well as Nairobi in neighbouring Kenya. In addition to its own destination network, Precision Air has codeshare agreements with Kenya Airways, LAM Mozambique Airlines and RwandAir. In 2013, 20 years after its establishment, the airline was named the Best Domestic Scheduled Airline in Tanzania by the Tanzania Society of Travel Agents.

In addition to its codeshare partners, Precision Air also has an interline agreement with Qatar Airways, which connects passengers to other East African destinations, as well as partnerships with a number of continental airlines such as British Airways, Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic Airlines. Working together with these partners, Malawian destinations and Zimbabwean destinations are due to be added to the airline's network in the future.

Online check-in

Passengers travelling on a Precision Air flight are currently unable to check in online, though an online check-in service is planned for the future. Due to the lack of online check-in services, passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before their scheduled departure time to check in at the terminal kiosk.

The check-in process requires Precision Air passengers to provide their booking reference code or boarding tickets, personal identification documents such as passports or travel cards, and any required visa information. Luggage can also be checked onto the aircraft during the check-in process.

Hand luggage allowance

All passengers travelling on Precision Air flights are allowed to take 1 piece of hand luggage on board the aircraft. The hand luggage may not exceed 40 x 30 x 20 cm in size, and is not allowed to be heavier than 10 kg for domestic and international journeys.

Liquids in containers with a maximum capacity of 100 ml are allowed to be taken on board. All liquid containers must fit into a see-through re-sealable plastic bag and the total amount of liquid may not exceed 1 litre. Precision Air passengers needing to bring medication or special diet items on board the flight must inform security before attempting to board the aircraft.

Checked baggage allowance

Passengers of Precision Air flights are entitled to 1 item of checked luggage weighing no more than 23 kg for free. Infant travellers aged less than 2 years are entitled to 1 item of luggage weighing no more than 10 kg, plus a collapsible stroller.

An additional weight allowance can be purchased before boarding a Precision Air flight. The maximum weight a single item of luggage can be increased is 32 kg. Musical instruments and sporting equipment can also be checked in for a fee, though passengers should state their desire to do so during the booking process.
