It is a subsidiary of Qantas airline with its parent company currently Jetstar Airways. It is also a sister airline to Jetstar Pacific, Jetstar Japan and Jetstar. The airline has codeshare agreements with Emirates, SriLankan Airlines and Finnair, as well as interline agreements with Turkish Airlines, KLM and British Airways. The airline currently has a fleet of 18 aircraft that fly to 27 destinations.

Jetstar Asia operates flights to Southeast Asian destinations including Malaysia and Thailand, plus regularly flies to the Australian destinations of Darwin and Perth as well as the Cambodian destinations of Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. There are also flights to the Japanese destinations of Fukuoka and Osaka as well as Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang in Vietnam.

Online check-in

Online check in is available for Jetstar Asia flights and allows passengers to print off their boarding pass or have it sent to them by email to be produced at a later date. For international flights, passengers must print off their boarding pass at the airport.

On some flights it is also possible to check in with a mobile phone to avoid having to print off a paper ticket. Checking in online allows passengers who are only travelling with hand luggage to save time at the airport on the date of departure by not having to wait in long queues.

Hand luggage allowance

All passengers travelling on Jetstar Asia flights are allowed to take at least 1 piece of hand baggage with them on board as long as it does not weigh more than 7 kg. Business Class passengers are allowed to take a second piece of luggage, also weighing 7 kg.

In addition, all passengers can take a small personal item with them on board such as a handbag or camera. Hand luggage may not be larger than 56 x 36 x 23 cm unless travelling on a regional New Zealand carrier. Liquids can also be taken on board but the containers are not allowed to be larger than 100 ml.

Checked baggage allowance

The amount of checked baggage passengers are allowed to take with them on a Jetstar Asia flight depends on the type of ticket they have purchased. Plus bundle ticket holders can take 20 kg on board whilst Business Class and max bundle ticket holders are allowed 30 kg of checked baggage.

It is also possible to purchase additional checked baggage allowance in different weight categories. The size of the checked baggage does not matter as long as the weight does not exceed the allowed amount according to the ticket purchased. Passengers are advised to label their luggage with their name and address.
