TAROM was founded in 1954 and is Romania's flag carrier airline. It is also the country's longest operating airline and a state-owned enterprise. TAROM Airlines' headquarters are in Otopeni, not far from Romania's capital of Bucharest. The airline has its hub at Henri Coanda International Airport and owns 23 airplanes, including Boeing, Airbus and ATR models. The airline also has a strong presence at Cluj Napoca International Airport, Iasi International Airport and Sibiu International Airport.
TAROM serves nearly 80 destinations in various continents and has many popular routes including its top destinations of Prague Vaclav Havel Airport in the Czech Republic, London Heathrow Airport in the United Kingdom and Vienna International Airport in Austria. It has been a SkyTeam member since 2010, after becoming an affiliate of the alliance in 2008. It also has codeshare agreements with Middle East Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Alitalia and a number of other carriers.
TAROM check-in online is only available on a select few of the airline's routes. Either way, check-in online is open from 30 hours before a flight until 1 hour before it is due to leave. During online check-in, for which they will need their e-ticket number and flight number, passengers can choose a seat for their flight and print out their boarding card. TAROM check-in can also be carried out at the airport up until 45 minutes before scheduled flight departure. If passengers have hold luggage, they can drop this off at one of the airline counters between 2 hours and 45 minutes before a flight.
Passengers on TAROM Airlines flights can bring 1 piece of hand luggage onto the plane's cabin. The maximum size for this depends on the aircraft being used for the flight. On Airbus and Boeing planes, the maximum size is 55 x 40 x 20 cm, while on ATR planes, the maximum size is 35 x 30 x 30 cm. They may also bring a small personal item such as a handbag, laptop or camera on board. The maximum weight allowance for hand luggage on a TAROM flight is 10 kg. If this allowance is exceeded, passengers will have to pay extra to have their hand luggage checked into the hold.
Economy class passengers are entitled to 1 item of luggage on TAROM flights. The weight must not exceed 23 kg. Business class passengers are entitled to 3 items of luggage, each of which can weigh up to 23 kg. Infants who will be travelling on an adult's lap are entitled to 1 item of luggage with a maximum weight of 10 kg as well as a stroller. Checked luggage is limited to a combined height, width and length of 158 cm. If a passenger's baggage exceeds their allowance, they may face extra fees once at the airport.TAROM recommends contacting them beforehand to arrange for additional luggage.
It was a good flight on time and good service
Flight was on time and no issues.
Smooth flight - comfortable seats. Punctual arrival in Munich.
My experience was great.
The value for money ratio might be improved. As the services level was very good in my opinion the price may be lowered.
Excellent
They lost our luggages Very high price
By Robert Weaver skyferry Too small a Aircraft (ATR72) to be doing such a long run from Bucharest to Budapest. 2hours flight time considering one can drive it in 9 and a regional jet can do the same trip in just over a hour begs the question “Tarom fleet upgrade needed”?
It was rubbish. Just because I couldn't fly and I han an infant written in my ticket ( for some reason I can't understand why not with her moyher also flying) the passengers had to spent 1hour at the checkin till getting stressed and embarrassed until the infant could be transfered on her mother's name.
I lost my baggage and the claim was not enough to cover my missing items
Check in team in Cairo subzero. Food is the worst. I suggest to have your staff coming lately exchanged. The only positive is reasonably good cooperative crew and good time punctuality.
