Arik Air is a Nigerian airline, founded in 2002, with headquarters located at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos. The airline boasts a 24-strong fleet of aircraft operating mainly in Nigeria but also flying to destinations across West Africa, Europe, Central Africa, South Africa and North America. Finally, it has two main hubs located at Kotoka International Airport and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. Arik Air has a code share agreement with Emirates.
Airk Air online check-in is available 24 hours up to 5 hours before international flights and 2 hours before domestic and regional flights. The service is only available on selected flights. For destinations where the service is not available, passengers with an Arik Air booking will need to check-in at the airport check-in counters. All passengers with hand luggage can proceed directly to airport security and their assigned boarding gate whilst those travelling with checked baggage will need to pass by the check-in counters for baggage drop off.
On all Arik Air flights passengers are entitled to one item of hand luggage with the maximum dimensions of 55cm x 35cm x 25cm. The maximum weight varies in accordance with the destination thus passengers on domestic flights are allowed 6kg whilst those travelling on international or regional flights are permitted 12kg. Exceeding the permitted number of baggage items, or the aforementioned weight and dimension restrictions will result in the baggage item being stored in the hold. An excess baggage fee may also apply.
The Arik Air free checked baggage allowance varies in accordance with the destination and class of travel. However, there is a weight limit of 30kg for all items of baggage in accordance with Health and Safety regulations. Infants do not have a checked baggage allowance. All items of baggage exceeding the free baggage allowance restrictions will incur an excess baggage fee. Passengers with an Arik Air booking are allowed up to 10 pieces of baggage in total.
Very bad and disappointed with booking. Flight to Nigeria on 4th was cancelled and return flight on 17th cancelled and suspended. Had to book alternative return flight to UK with Qatar from Nigeria on 17th costing over £1000 for self and wife. How can we get back our refund please?
There was no flight to Owerri even though I paid from L ondon to O werri. I had to be flown to Port Harcourt, and paid extra amount to travel by road to Owerri. I am going to put in my claim regarding the extra cost and inconvinience. On my way back to London I had to purchase a ticket to L Lagos from Owerri, and spent a night in L agos and had to pay for the hotel bill. I would be putting in a claim for this.
The worst airline I have ever used.
Unimpressive service all the way. There were toilets out of order onwards and an on return flight. There were no blankets available on both legs of my journey nor was the inflight entertainment working! The air crew was generally lacklustre and trying to explain away the lack of basic amenities.
The check in staff of Arik at terminal 4 are so unprofessional, rude and cold. For a night flight, there was no socks to wear despite how cold. The crew needs retraining. My screen was not working so I called the lady crew on my aisle she didn't even make any effort to reprogram instead she said move to any available vacant seat. Rather than move I decided to sleep. Only 1 hand luggage allowed. So I had to put my handbag inside my hand luggage that was empty except for my blanket that was in it. Arik is too expensive to be doing cheap and nasty things
Arik changed the date of our connecting flight from Lagos to Abuja, so we had to buy a local flight to Lagos, so we could catch our flight on the 14th to Heathrow, only to find that they had changed it to the 15th without informing us. We had to insist on flying on the 14th. I am going to ask for a refund for the local flight tickets to Lagos
