About Air Nostrum

Air Nostrum is a franchise of Iberia, which also operates using the name Iberia Regional. It is a Spanish air carrier that was set up in 1994 and then entered into its current agreement with Iberia in 1997. Following that agreement, it purchased the airline Binter Mediterraneo. Its headquarters are in Valencia, Spain. In addition to its primary base of operations at Valencia Airport, it also flies out of Barcelona Airport and Madrid Barajas Airport. It has a fleet of nearly 40 aircraft in across these three hubs. These are a mixture of Bombardier CRJ aircraft and ATR 72 planes.

The airline focuses on regional services covering North Africa and Europe, plus flies to nearly 60 destinations. Some of its top destinations, excluding its three bases of operation, include international routes to Algiers, Toulouse and Paris, as well as domestic services to Bilbao, Salamanca and Granada. Through its relationship with Iberia, it is an affiliate member of the oneworld airline alliance.

Online check-in

Online check-in is available to any passenger with an e-ticket. Online check-in for Air Nostrum flights opens 24 hours prior to departure and remains open until 1 hour before the scheduled take-off time. When checking in online, passengers will also have the option to select the location of their seat on the flight. Checking in online will allow passengers to print their boarding card. If they prefer to check in at the airport, passengers can do so at the airline's check-in counters. The airline recommends that they do so at least 1 hour before their flight is due to leave.

Hand luggage allowance

Passengers can carry 1 item of hand luggage up to 45 x 56 x 25 cm onto an Air Nostrum flight. This size limit includes wheels, pockets or any handles that may stick out from luggage. No maximum weight for hand luggage is specified by the airline. The types of planes used by the company are smaller than other airlines, which means that cabin space is limited. Due to this, some passengers may be asked to check in their hand luggage at the gate even if it falls within their entitlement. If this does occur, passengers will not be charged.

Checked baggage allowance

Checked baggage allowance depends on a passenger's fare type when travelling on an Air Nostrum flight. Basic fares do not include any checked luggage allowance in the ticket price. Other Economy class fares allow passengers to check in 1 piece of luggage, weighing up to 23 kg with combined dimensions of up to 158 cm. Business class passengers can check in 2 items as long as each one is lighter than 23 kg and smaller than 158 cm when width, length and height are added together. Passengers will be charged if their luggage exceeds their allowance. If an item of luggage weighs more than 32 kg, the airline will not carry it due to health and safety concerns.
