If you’re flying with Jet2 soon, make sure you’re up to date with the Jet2 luggage allowance to avoid any extra costs at the airport. Just as any other low cost airline, Jet2.com has strict rules regarding baggage allowance.
Jet2 Hand Luggage Allowance
The Jet2 hand luggage allowance includes one bag that you’re allowed to take on board with you, with maximum dimensions of 56 x 45 x 25 cm and a maximum weight of 10 kg. In addition, you’re now allowed to carry an additional small item on board with you. This can be a handbag, laptop bag or airport purchase. It must be able to be placed either in the overhead compartment or under the seat in front of you.
If you’re travelling with an infant who is between 6 and 24 months old, you can also bring a car seat. Car seats should face the front and must be properly secured onto the aircraft seat. The standard dimensions a Jet2 seat is 24.5cm x 43.6cm x 70.5cm.
IMPORTANT: Every extra kilo will be charged with Jet2’s excess baggage fee of £12 at the airport.
Jet2 Checked Baggage Allowance
Jet2 doesn’t offer free checked baggage. You’ll have to book your additional bag online before arriving at the airport. If you decide to check your luggage at the airport, you will have to pay up to 80% more than during the booking process.
You may book up to three bags of up to 22kg per person, however you may combine the allowance if you have more than one bag. For example, if you pay for three bags of 22kg, you’re allowed to bring 66kg onboard, spread into as many bags as you like. Just make sure one single bag isn’t over 32kg!
Jet2 Baggage Costs
The price to check baggage in on Jet 2 starts at £8 when you purchase online and £45 at the airport. However, prices are variable and may increase depending on your destination.
Folding strollers and car seats with a maximum weight of 10kg (for both items) are carried free of charge in the hold.
