Oman's national airline is based in the country's capital, Muscat, at the Muscat International Airport. In addition to those headquarters, Oman Air has a second hub at Salalah Airport. The airline is owned by the government of Oman, like many other national carriers, and is renowned worldwide for never having a single accident in its entire history. There are 40 airplanes in Oman Air's fleet. The fleet is a mix of Embraer, Airbus and Boeing models, with the most prevalent type or aircraft being the Boeing 737.

Oman Air serves 50 destinations in Europe, Asia and Africa, including 11 destinations in India alone. Some of its top destinations are Guangzhou in China, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Mumbai in India and London Heathrow in England. It is an Arab Air Carriers Organization member and has codeshare agreements with Turkish Airlines, SriLankan Airlines, KLM, Malaysia Airlines, Emirates, Royal Jordanian, Thai Airways, Garuda Indonesia and Ethiopian Airlines.

Online check-in

Oman Air offers an online check-in service to its passengers, aimed at minimising the time they need to spend in the airport. The earliest that passengers can check in online is 24 hours prior to scheduled flight departure. Online check-in closes an hour and a half ahead of a flight takeoff time. Passengers can also check in for Oman Air flights at the airport by going to the check-in counters there. Passengers choosing to check in this way should be aware that airport check-in counters close an 1 hour prior a flight's scheduled departure.

Hand luggage allowance

The Oman Air baggage allowance for hand luggage is dependent upon a passenger's fare type. The hand luggage allowance for Economy passengers is one item with a maximum weight of up to 7 kg. The allowance for Business class and First class passengers is 2 items of hand luggage with a combined weight of up to 14 kg. All hand luggage items must be no bigger than the combined length, width and height of 115 cm. Oman Air also recommends that all luggage is clearly labelled with the passenger's name and contact details to aid in recovery in case it goes missing.

Checked baggage allowance

Hold luggage that passengers are entitled to is also dependent on a their ticket class. Economy passengers have an allowance of 30 kg included with their Oman Air booking. The allowance for Business class passengers is 40 kg and 50 kg for First class passengers. It is up to the passenger how to split their allowance into different bags, but it is worth noting that Oman Air will not accept any item of baggage that weighs more than 32 kg. In addition to this weight limit, maximum dimensions (width plus height plus length) of a piece of luggage are set at 158 cm. Oman Air reviews its luggage allowances periodically and the current allowances are an increase in past limits.

This is Abhaya sahoo. My airline booking reference HVTKXM. BOOKING REF: O9Y7I3 booking date- 13 July 2019. Dear sir/madam I am holding ICT tier 2 visa and valid until Jan 2022. My wife and daughter are holding ict tier 2 dependant visa valid until jan 2022. My wife and daughter left UK 1st July 2017. They are in India for more than 2 years. Due to that Oman air did not issue boarding pass for all four passengers. They did not gave anything on written and no justification yet. I came from uk on 2nd July 2019 with Oman air from Manchester to bring my family to UK but due to this I could not travel back to UK. I have filled up Oman air feedback from but there saying now to speak to your agent. Also I need to collect BRP for my son and traveling for his treatment in UK. It’s huge monetary loss and lots of pain to whole family. Please note I was traveling with 2 kids. Now I am stuck up here in India. I checked with my organization TATA consultancy services and UK immigration lawyers. All suggested there is no rule for overstay with ICT tier 2. There is a rule for ILR. I request airline many times that no such rule applies for ICT but they did not issue boarding pass. Request you please help in this circumstances. I hope you will sort out this issue asap.
