Founded in 1927 as Aeroput and later known as Jet Airways, Air Serbia then has its named change to its current branding in 2013 after a partnership agreement was made with Etihad Airways. It is the country's largest airline and flag carrier with headquarters located in Belgrade, plus its main hub at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport. It has codeshare agreements with a number of airlines including Aegean Airlines, airBaltic, Etihad Airways, KLM
, Air China and El Al. The airline has a fleet of 21 aircraft that fly to 40 destinations that are mainly situated in Europe.
The majority of Air Serbia flights travel to European destinations such as Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Stuttgart in Germany plus Milan and Rome in Italy. It also flies to the Croatian destinations of Split and Zagreb. Other destinations serviced by the airline include New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport in the United States, Abu Dhabi International Airport in the United Arab Emirates and Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel.
