About Air Serbia
Founded in 1927 as Aeroput and later known as Jet Airways, Air Serbia then has its named change to its current branding in 2013 after a partnership agreement was made with Etihad Airways. It is the country's largest airline and flag carrier with headquarters located in Belgrade, plus its main hub at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport. It has codeshare agreements with a number of airlines including Aegean Airlines, airBaltic, Etihad Airways, KLM
, Air China and El Al. The airline has a fleet of 21 aircraft that fly to 40 destinations that are mainly situated in Europe.
The majority of Air Serbia flights travel to European destinations such as Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Stuttgart in Germany plus Milan and Rome in Italy. It also flies to the Croatian destinations of Split and Zagreb. Other destinations serviced by the airline include New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport in the United States, Abu Dhabi International Airport in the United Arab Emirates and Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Online check-in
Online check-in is available for Air Serbia flights departing from Prague, Istanbul, Düsseldorf, London, Bucharest, Beirut, Abu Dhabi, Amsterdam and Belgrade. Online check-in will open from 36 hours up until about 1 hour prior to the departure of the flight. In order to check in online, passengers must enter their departure airport as well as their surname and booking reference number. Once the check-in process has been completed, passengers are able to print off their boarding pass or have it sent to their email address to print off at a later date. Checking in online will save the passenger having to wait in long queues at the airport on the date of departure.
Hand luggage allowance
The amount of hand baggage allowed on an Air Serbia flight depends on whether the passenger has purchased an Economy or Business Class ticket. Economy Class passengers are allowed to take 1 free piece of hand luggage with them as long as it does not weigh more than 8 kg, whilst Business Class passengers can take 2 pieces of luggage, 1 weighing up to 8 kg and the other, up to 4 kg. The size of the larger piece of hold luggage must not exceed 55 x 40 x 20 cm. A small personal item such as a laptop, handbag or camera may also be taken on board. These items should be able to fit under the seat in front of the passenger.
Checked baggage allowance
The amount of checked baggage a passenger can take with them on an Air Serbia flight depends on what ticket they have bought as well as which route they are flying. For most flights, Economy Class passengers can take 1 free piece of luggage weighing up to 23 kg while Business Class passengers are allowed 2 pieces weighing up to 32 kg each. Infants are also allowed to take a piece of luggage weighing up to 23 kg in addition to a pushchair as long as it can be fully collapsed. The dimensions of each piece of luggage must not exceed 158 cm when added together.
