About Air Seychelles

Founded in 1977, Air Seychelles is the Republic of Seychelles' national airline and has its headquarters located in Mahé, Seychelles. The entire fleet is primarily based at its main hub at Seychelles International Airport, and currently consists of over 9 aircraft that fly to 9 destinations internationally as well as between neighbouring islands. Air Seychelles is one of the founding members of the Vanilla Alliance, which was formed in 2015. This alliance aims to improve tourism and trade in the Indian Ocean region.

The Air Seychelles fleet operates flights between the islands as well as to international destinations such as to the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris and the Beijing Capital International Airport in Beijing. Passengers can also book flights to Johannesburg as well as Abu Dhabi. The company has codeshare agreements with Etihad Airways, Alitalia, Jet Airways , Air Berlin, Niki, Air France and South African Airways.

Online check-in

For international Air Seychelles flights online check-in is available 2 to 24 hours before the departure time, while for domestic flights, check-in online is open 1 to 24 hours prior to departure. In order to check in, passengers must enter their name, departure city and booking reference number. After checking in online, passengers are able to select their seat and print off their boarding pass.

It is only possible to use the online check-in for Air Seychelles flights from Mahé in the Seychelles and Praslin. Upon arrival at Seychelles International Airport, passengers who have their printed boarding pass can drop off their luggage at the fast-drop baggage desk.

Hand luggage allowance

Air Seychelles passengers traveling in Economy Class are allowed to take 1 piece of luggage weighing no more than 7 kg, while Business Class passengers are permitted to take 1 piece of baggage weighing up to 12 kg. For all passengers, the dimensions of the luggage must not exceed 55 x 40 x 20 cm. Luggage that exceeds this limit may have to be stored in the hold of the aircraft and will incur a fee.

Liquids can be taken on board in the hand luggage as long as the contents are not more than 100ml each. Liquids purchased at a duty free shop must be sealed in a plastic bag to prevent it from being tampered with.

Checked baggage allowance

Depending on the Air Seychelles flight route, different baggage allowances are available. This is true for all passengers on journeys between Brazil, Canada and the USA, whom are allowed 2 pieces of luggage weighing up to 32 kg, no matter whether they are Economy or Business Class travellers. For many other routes however, Business Class passengers are allowed to take heavier baggage on board compared to Economy Class travellers.

Sports equipment can be stored in the hold but may incur an additional fee. Golf club sets up to 15 kg are allowed to be taken as complimentary baggage. Air Seychelles fees for other items such as diving equipment will depend on their weight and whether it exceeds the maximum size limit. Baggage should be clearly labelled with the name and address of the passenger.
