Online check-in is available for all passengers from 48 hours before the flight departure up until 2 hours prior to takeoff. In order to check in online passengers must enter their name as well as their Singapore Airlines booking number. Once the check-in process has been completed, passengers will be able to either print off a boarding pass or have their boarding pass sent to their smart phone to be used as a mobile boarding pass. This feature will depend on which city the passenger is flying from. Checking in online will save the passenger time queuing at the airport on the date of departure.
The amount of hand baggage passengers can take with them on Singapore Airlines flights is dependent on the type of ticket they have purchased. Economy Class passengers are allowed to take 1 piece of luggage with them as long as it does not weigh more than 7 kg, while Business and First Class passengers are able to bring 2 pieces of luggage with them weighing up to 7 kg each.
The luggage must be able to be stowed safely in the overhead lockers. Passengers are also allowed to take an additional personal item with them on board such as a handbag, camera or laptop. The size of these personal items must not exceed 40 x 30 x 10 cm.

For flights to and from North America and Brazil, Business and First Class passengers are allowed 2 pieces of luggage weighing up to 32 kg each. For flights to all other destinations, First Class passengers are allowed luggage weighing up to 50 kg whilst Business Class passengers can take baggage weighing up to 40 kg. Premium Economy ticket holders can also take baggage weighing up to 35 kg whilst Economy Class passengers are allowed to take luggage weighing up to 30 kg.
