New York City has many nicknames, including “the city that never sleeps”.  Anyone who has been there knows why – when the sun sets and the city lights switch on, New York awakens for the second time. In this post we bring you the best rooftop bars to have a drink or two and take in the spectacular views of New York City’s twinkling skyline.

If you’re not much of a night owl like the local New Yorkers, don’t worry, most of these bars are open all day. You now officially have no excuse not to book a flight to New York!

Le Bain is the penthouse rooftop club and bar at the Standard Hotel. During the summer months the grass-covered dancefloor includes a plunge pool which makes for quite the extravagant party scene.

Refinery Rooftop

The Refinery Rooftop Bar belongs to the Refinery Hotel, and is a great place to cheers under the Empire State Building. The bar may not be big, but it is in a prime location – and there is also a covered area, meaning a visit is still worthwhile when the weather isn’t cooperating.
