About Condor

A German airline founded in 1955 under the name Condor Flugdienst, Condor offers travellers an extensive network of leisure destinations across Africa, Asia, North and South America, the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. With the slogan "Born to fly", the airline is Germany's third largest commercial airline in terms of fleet size and passengers flown annually. Currently, the airline boasts a fleet of 46 Airbus and Boeing aircraft, and a service network of over 80 popular tourist destinations.

Condor is primarily headquartered in Frankfurt Airport, but also has a number of secondary bases throughout Germany. A subsidiary of the British-operated Thomas Cook Group since 2003, the airline is also partnered with the German airline Lufthansa, with whom it shares a frequent flyer program and business facilities at its Frankfurt Airport base. A majority of the airline's long-haul flights depart from its Frankfurt Airport, though passengers embarking on a Mediterranean holiday are most likely to depart from Munich Airport.

Online check-in

Online check-in is available for all Condor flights. Check-in opens 24 hours before the flight's scheduled departure and closes 2 hours prior. Passengers traveling with infants under the age of 2 years are unable to check-in online and must instead check-in directly at the airport.

During the check-in process, Condor passengers are able to select their preferred seats on board the flight. After the check-in is complete, travellers have the option to either print out their boarding pass or store it on a mobile device to present at the airport. Special baggage drop-off areas are provided at the airport terminal for passengers who need to check items of luggage.

Hand luggage allowance

Passengers travelling on Condor flights are entitled to carry 1 item of free hand luggage with them on board the aircraft. The weight of each item of hand luggage should not exceed 6 kg, while the dimensions of each item of hand luggage should not exceed 55 x 40 x 20 cm. Items heavier or larger than these allowances will be placed in the aircraft's hold and be subjected to a surcharge.

Condor passengers are also able to carry one small additional item of baggage on board the flight, such as a laptop bag, a handbag or an umbrella, provided these can be stored in the aircraft's overhead lockers or beneath the seat.

Checked baggage allowance

Passengers travelling on a Condor flight are permitted to check in 1 of luggage for free, provided it does not exceed 20 kg in weight. This weight allowance can be increased to 32 kg for an additional fee.

The outer dimensions of each item of baggage should not exceed 158 cm. Items that are larger than this will be subject to an additional fee and may not be allowed on board the aircraft. Baby carriages and wheelchairs can also be checked for free. Condor passengers should notify the airline during the booking process if such items need to be checked.

Very attentive and friendly crew. Very good in-flight meals. We had very comfortable bulkhead seats for both flights - but were disturbed from sleeping on the return overnight flight by one or two passengers on the starboard side of the cabin trying to access the forward toilet on the port side, despite a request from the cabin crew to respect the privacy of the front row of passengers.Could a discrete, though easily retracted webbing barrier be installed at the starboard end of the four middle bulkhead seats ?
