Air Europa is a Spanish airline that was founded in 1986. It is currently owned by the travel company Globalia and has its main headquarters located in Llucmajor on the island of Mallorca, however its operational hub is at the Madrid Barajas Airport near the Spanish capital. It comes in behind Iberia and Vueling as Spain's third biggest airline and has a fleet of nearly 60 aircraft. These planes are a mixture of Embraer, Boeing and Airbus aircraft, with the Boeing 737 being the most prevalent within the fleet.
Air Europa flights serve more than 40 destinations on various continents. It flies to many popular holiday destinations in Spain, such as Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Alicante, Granada and Barcelona, as well as operating routes further afield, including Sao Paolo, New York and Las Vegas. As well as being a member of the SkyTeam alliance, which it joined in 2007, it also has codeshares in operation with Air Serbia and Etihad Airways.
Passengers can take care of Air Europa check-in up to 48 hours before they fly by completing the process online. This service is available on all flights from Europe to Lima, Santo Domingo, Buenos Aires, Cancun, Dakar, Caracas, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Salvador de Bahia and Havana. Online check-in closes 1 hour before a flight is scheduled to takeoff. If passengers have checked in online, they're able to drop of their baggage at the check-in counter. Air Europa check-in can also be done at a designated airport kiosk. A third option is mobile check-in, which allows passengers to store an electronic boarding card on their smartphone or tablet.
Hand luggage allowance for Economy passengers is the same on all Air Europa flights. Passengers travelling in Economy may bring 1 piece of hand luggage with a maximum weight of up to 10 kg, while Business class passengers may bring 1 piece of hand luggage weighing up to 14 kg on domestic, European, African and Middle Eastern flights, and 2 items with a combined weight of up to 18 kg on long distance flights. Infants up to 2 years old are allowed to bring a bag containing all the necessary items such as food and diapers for their care during the flight. Hand luggage may not exceed 35 x 55 x 25 cm in size.
On domestic, European, African and Middle Eastern flights, checked luggage allowance is dependent on the ticket type. Lite fares do not include any checked baggage, Economy fares include 1 luggage item of up to 23 kg and Business fares include 2 luggage items of up to 23 kg each. Checked baggage regulations on long distance Air Europa flights stipulate that Economy fares to most destinations are allowed 1 luggage item of up to 23 kg, while Economy fares to Bolivia, Paraguay, Peru, Colombia and Venezuela are allowed 2 luggage items each weighing up to 23 kg. Economy fares to Brazil also include 2 luggage items each weighing up to 32 kg, with those on a Business ticket able to check in 3 luggage items weighing up to 23 kg. Infants under 2 may bring a single luggage item of up to 10 kg. The maximum size of any luggage item is 158 cm in combined width, height and length. Passengers who exceed their luggage allowance in any way will have to pay extra charges.
Flight cost was very reasonable but cost of bags was double the cost of the flight. Overall very pleasant flight with no issues or delays
Excellent flight & service I prefer travel with Air Europa. Because comfortable and affordable.
Really friendly cabin crew.
Air Europa NYC-Madrid is a very painful red-eye Meal gets served late after take-off and lights come on too often for those that want to sleep
There were no problems
More paddi g on seat
Food poor
The flight out was fine but on the way back after a nine he flight they rushed through the cabin so fast with the tea and coffee I wasn’t given chance to get either. Also plane from Madrid to Gatwick had the sink in the toilet taped up so it couldn’t be used,
The plane was comfortable, however, I was shocked to be served only one meal 1.5 hours into an 11 hour flight. On all previous flights of this length I have been offered 2 meals and a snack in between. Furthermore no hot drinks were initially offered due to 'Turbulence'. Yet hours after the plane began to fly smoothly I was still denied a coffee or other beverage until one hour before landing when it was charged for.
My luggage was lost and then I was told I would get it back when I landed in Madrid but that didn’t happen I’m still waiting for my luggage to be delivered
The flight was delayed 5 hours.
Flight attendants not so friendly. Couldnt use the loo throughout both journeys.
