Lot Polish Airlines

About LOT Polish Airlines

LOT Polish Airlines was founded in 1928 and is based in Warsaw using Chopin Airport as its main hub. It also flies from Tallinn, Krakow and Budapest, and with over 90 destinations covered in mainly Europe and the Middle East it also has many long-haul flights to North America and Asia. As part of the Star Alliance, LOT Polish Airlines joins other airlines such as EgyptAir and Lufthansa with whom it can share airline terminals and the Star Alliance reward program. In addition to these rewards, LOT Polish Airlines flights have their own frequent flyer program called Miles and More, the benefits of which include upgrades and priority boarding.

In an effort to make it simpler for customers travelling to multiple destinations on different airlines’ routes, they also have a codeshare agreement with nearly 30 other companies including Croatia Airlines and Air China.

How do I check in online with LOT Polish Airlines?

LOT Polish Airlines online check-in will be open from 36 hours before your flight departs. This system allows you to choose whichever seat you prefer, and then print your boarding pass or send it as a link in a text to your internet-connected device. Once the link has been accessed, you can save a copy of your boarding pass onto your phone or other device to be used once you arrive at the airport.

In order to use the system, all you need is the last name of the passenger on the booking and either the booking reference number or ticket number. If you do not have any bags to check-in when you reach the airport you can go directly to the gate, but if you do have hold baggage just visit the handy LOT Polish Airlines Drop-off counters and process your luggage there.

What is my checked baggage allowance on LOT Polish Airlines?

The LOT Polish Airlines baggage policy varies depending on the ticket purchased and the route travelled. With a LOT Economy Saver fare, no baggage is allowed on any domestic or short international flights but you can pay for luggage to be put in the hold at the time of booking. Generally, one piece of luggage up to 23 kg is allowed for other Economy ticket-holders, and this increases to two for some intercontinental flights. Business Class passengers are allowed three bags of up to 32 kg each or two similar sized bags on shorter international routes. The dimensions of any of these bags must not be greater than 158 cm when adding width, length and height together, and anything heavier than 32 kg will not be accepted as it is too large to handle safely.

Passengers with Miles and More membership will also be allowed an increase in their baggage allowance, but the specific amount varies depending on what class of ticket they hold and their destination.

Children under two years and infants who do not require a seat because they will be sitting on an adults lap also have an allowance. This will be one bag of up to 23 kg and it must conform to the size expected of all other hold baggage, namely a maximum of 158 cm for the linear dimensions.

What hand luggage can I take on LOT Polish Airlines?

Passengers in possession of an Economy Class ticket can take one item of hand baggage on board the plane with them as long as it weighs less than 8 kg. It must be able to fit into the overhead compartments or under the seat in front and the maximum dimensions allowed are 55 cm x 40 cm x 23 cm. These dimensions must include any side pockets, wheels or handles that are attached to the bag. Premium Economy ticket-holders are allowed two bags up to a maximum weight of 12 kg when added together, although neither can be larger than 8 kg on its own. The LOT Polish Airlines hand luggage allowance is different again for Business Class passengers as they can take two bags into the cabin as long as they are equal to or less than 9 kg each. A small handbag or laptop bag is allowed in addition to the above allowance, but it cannot be larger than 40 cm x 35 cm x 12 cm.

Liquids can only be taken onboard if they are separated from the rest of your luggage for security screening and kept in a clear, plastic bag with a maximum size of 20 cm x 20 cm. Each item cannot be in a container larger than 100ml, and this includes creams, gels, deodorants and items such as lipstick and mascara as well. Any duty-free products you have purchased in the airport are exempt from these restrictions as long as they are still with the receipt and in the sealed security packaging provided when they were bought.

It was a new aircraft with very good looking interior. Neat and Clean. The cabin crew was very respectful and patient. I was traveling alone with a toddler and we were taken good care of. Food served was also good. The seats were a bit tight and hard for my feeling.

Unfortunately, the flight was delayed for 2 hours from Warsaw to Narita due to the delay from the previous flight. My seat was modified for some reason to the seat with a faulty function (touch panel does not work and the table is broken). However, members of staff are helpful and the meal was much better than I thought. Regarding the inbound flight from Narita to Warsaw, there is no problem at all and it was comfortable on the flight all way through. The flight fare is reasonable so that it is not bad to use LOT after all.

A flight from Arlanda to Poland wasn't good enough little bumps and swinging. the flight was smaller. No break first or Lunch on board but they can be ordered by paying extra. Landing was not a good experience. However from Polland to London was a bit okay with bigger turbine engine flight on wings which I prefer more. Norwegian airline was far

the shop at the airport sold me a bottle of whisky which I wanted to take to Lublin but while transferring at Warsaw Chopin airport I was told I can't take the bottle to my connecting flight because it should be sealed in a plastic bag! I took a train from there. It's Aelia shop fault to not pack the bottle properly
